Kambo Detoxification

Service Description

The session is delivered in Native American teepee where copal is used the cleanse the air to start with and soothing music is played in the background. The medicine is applied by burning off the surface layer of the skin (burning a wood stick and placing it for few milliseconds on the patients back, leg or arm) and inserting the venom of the frog on the wound. After the application the patient is instructed to drink about 1 to 2 liters of water. Within minutes of applying the kambo, people tend to experience immediate and generally unpleasant symptoms, such as sweating, tachycardia, or a rapid heart rate and dizziness until very briefly the patient vomits the water and or excretes the toxins 'from below' in the toilets next to the teepee, immediately feeling better. The peak phase might even be experienced as a loss of consciousness of few seconds max. While the sensation experienced during ceremony is not hallucinogenic or entheogenic in any way, the energetic shift is clearly both physical and spiritual of nature. After the session some patients may feel tired which is why we recommend at least 1.5h recovery period before continuing with other therapies. -- La sesión se imparte en un tipi nativo americano donde, para empezar, se utiliza copal para limpiar el aire y se reproduce música relajante de fondo. El medicamento se aplica quitando la capa superficial de la piel quemándolo con un palo de madera durante unos milisegundos (típicamente en la espalda, la pierna o el brazo del paciente) e insertando el veneno de la rana en la herida. Después de la aplicación se indica al paciente que beba entre 1 y 2 litros de agua. A los pocos minutos de aplicar el kambo, las personas tienden a experimentar síntomas inmediatos y generalmente desagradables, como sudoración, taquicardia o frecuencia cardíaca rápida y mareos hasta que muy brevemente el paciente vomita el agua o excreta las toxinas "desde abajo" en los baños aun lado del teepee, sintiendo inmediatamente mejor. La fase pico podría incluso experimentarse como una pérdida de conciencia de unos pocos segundos como máximo. Si bien la sensación experimentada durante la ceremonia no es alucinógena ni enteogénica de ninguna manera, el cambio energético es claramente de naturaleza tanto física como espiritual. Después de la sesión algunos pacientes pueden sentirse cansados por lo que recomendamos un período de recuperación de al menos 1,5 horas antes de continuar con otras terapias.
