Hyberbaric Oxygen therapy

Service Description

Patients are placed in a pressurized chamber, where they breathe 90% oxygen at a pressure of 1.5 atm (=5 psi). The treatment is often repeated over several sessions, depending on the condition being treated.  Prior to entering the chamber, the patient receives an injection of glutathione into the abdominal subcutaneous tissue or gluteal muscle. This serves to neutralize free radicals, thereby preventing the oxidative stress that may result from exposure to high concentrations of oxygen.
